"what was wrong with this logo?" There was nothing "wrong" with this logo. For that particular time period it really did the job it was designed to do. In those days, the trend for logos were to be "character" driven (ie Sharks,Raptors etc) the trend has shifted to more "icon" driven, and thus the logo has converted back to a basketball with no "horsepower". They are just following trends.

This logo is the best logo the NBA will ever see....dosnt matter what anyone else says....Detroit should definatly bring theis back.

BJPtheSTUD, how could Piston fans hate this logo?! It's so creative, and it shows horsepower! Maybe because the one today looks more like the logo in the Bad Boy Era. But in my opinion, they should bring this back!
