The New York Knicks logo of the early 1980s featured KNICKS in burgundy trimmed in white and navy blue arched over a basketball. This period saw the club briefly drop their familiar colours of royal blue and orange for a darker navy blue and burgundy. The orange remained on the logo as the previous photograph of a basketball (used from 1964-79) was replaced with a graphical representation. The Knicks quickly switched back to their traditional colours after just four seasons.
