The original Pittsburgh Penguins logo featured a black and white penguin skating while holding a hockey stick and wearing a flowing white scarf around its neck, the penguin was placed upon a yellow triangle to represent the Pittsburgh Golden Triangle area of downtown. The entire design is encased by a black and white circle with PITTSBURGH PENGUINS and two stars separating the words in navy blue. The Penguins only used this logo for their inaugural 1967-68 season before tweaking it in 1968-69.
