The original logo for the Lake County Captains following their relocation from Columbus, Georgia showed a marine captain wearing full navy blue uniform holding a baseball bat in front of the wheel of a ship. The team name was above in gold and the entire design was placed upon a red, white, and blue U.S.-flag themed shield. The Captains removed the shield and the team name from this logo following the 2003 season.
