The Cincinnati Reds brought back their previous name in 1959, dropping the Red Stockings moniker for the more simple Reds. Despite the name change, the logo remained the same, showing the club mascot Mr. Redlegs with a black handlebar moustache and baseball head with an old-fashioned pillbox cap and Red Stockings across the chest of its uniform.
