For the 2003-04 season the Thrashers introduced an alternate jersey which would spark criticism around the league. During that season the Thrashers wore a fifth anniversary patch on the right shoulder of their jerseys, as well as a black Dan Snyder memorial patch on the upper right side of the chest.
